Well the holidays are past and it’s back in the saddle again. Giddy-up. Hope it’s a good fit for you this year! It’s the second Hump-Day since the new year… I skipped the first one since it fell in the second and didn’t feel like a Hump-Day at all. Now… it does. It feels like the middle of the week. We all feel the effects of Hump-Day. Whether you homeschool, work away from home, are a stay-at-home-mom, or are going to school you feel it. It’s a weird phenomenon.
God said, that in six days we shall work but we are to rest on the seventh. He rested, and we are to follow his example and rest on the seventh day. Yet we Americans fight for two days a week and call it the weekend. Hump-Day falls in the middle of the five-day work week. We look forward to getting over that day because we’re positionally closer to our two-day weekend.
This year let’s resolve to pray over all our career decisions. Whether it’s home-schooling, or a job that takes us away from the home. If you’re a stay-at-home-mom, pray for your husband… his work surely effects the home. Let’s pray for God to take the reins. Ask him to align our hearts up with his will for our lives. Ask him to clarify how he uniquely made us and reveal the steps and paths we should take. Let’s ask for his wisdom and discernment with all things. Then the saddle we climb into (five days a week) will be the best fit for us. We may find Hump-Day doesn’t feel like Hump-Day any longer because we love what we do! So, let’s pray!
Remember… Friday’s a-comin’ but most importantly… Christ is coming back too!
