On this Wednesday Work Blog let’s talk diffusers. This is not about essential oils… although I love them… this is about the work of a diffuser. A diffuser is used to disperse the small molecules in the essential oil through the air. Then they can enter the body. Many essential oils are used for lifting moods, and improving your focus etc.
As people (much like a diffuser) we disperse, into the space around us, the emotional luggage we carry… be it good or bad. It doesn’t take a genius to see the truth of this statement.
Now think about what God tells his children to do and how to be. Let’s look at just a few examples… we are to walk in the light as he is in the light. We are to mirror his image to those around. We are to let our yes mean yes and our no is to mean no. We are to shine his light around us. We are not to slander, we are not to judge the world, that’s God’s job. We are to judge those within the church because we all have the same standard… the word of God. However, we are to first examine ourselves and take the plank out of our own eye. Then we may see clearly to help our brother or sister with their little splinter in theirs. We are to care and love all. And God tells us what love does not do… “Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, love never fails.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
Think about that. How are you doing with that diffuser of yours? Are you dispersing the love of God to all around you?
We look so forward to Fridays as putting a cap on the week and giving way to the weekend. Let’s look more forward to hearing from our Lord, “Well done, good and faithful steward. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your Lord. Matthew 25:21 Let us diffuse into the world around us the joy and love of our Lord!
On this Hump-Day Wednesday… remember that Friday is always coming… but most importantly, Christ is coming back too!
