Wednesday Work Blog: I Will Strengthen You, I Will Help You

Are there times that struggles seem to surround you? You overcome one obstacle only to find another one to surmount. So, I’m driving down the street when I suddenly see three turkey hens walking down a driveway. One behind the other with a blue pick-up truck driving slowly behind them. I slowed as they crossed the street. As soon as the last one crossed, they turned and flew right back from whence they came. And again, they were in single file again! It was the strangest thing.

When walking in front of the truck it was as if they were saying, “Okay, okay, okay, we’re going… we’re going, we’re going.” Once the last one was crossed, they did an about face saying, “Oh we’re coming, we’re coming!” It was as if they had been strengthened.

Walking down the driveway with the truck on their heels they looked docile. In flight they looked powerful. They looked sure and determined. What had changed? Their position.

Isaiah 41:10 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

‘Do not fear, for I am with you;

Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you, surely, I will help you,

Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

On this Hump-Day Wednesday in which position are you? Is the enemy napping at your heels? Are you in a docile position forgetting your identity as God’s child?

Isaiah 40:31 New American Standard Bible (NASB
Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.

Remember your identity in Christ. You are seated where he is—at the right hand of God, Ephesians 1. He continuously intercedes for us Romans 8.

He is with you. Look to him.

On this Hump-Day Wednesday, remember that Friday is coming. Most importantly though, Christ is coming back too!
