Hello? Where are you? Hello? Can you hear me?
This Hump-Day, I want to ask you a question, “Where are you?” I know that’s a weird question, but if you read Matthew 18:12-14… not so weird… “If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying? If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. So, it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.”
People stumble. We do. This passage also discusses those who cause the stumbling and how to handle those who continue in sin. This passage is helpful to the body of Christ, to the family of God. The whole of the Scriptures reveals a God who strives with his people… oh how he loves them!
Do you see how this passage depicts our Lord? He’s leaving the ninety-nine sheep safe on the mountain and goes after the one that is lost. He goes to retrieve him. It is not God’s will that anyone should perish. He pursues… he calls to you.
Where are you? Have you strayed? Are you alienated from God and his family? Have you wandered away and doing your own thing? If so, this Wednesday Work Blog is for you. He’s calling for you to return. If you’re close to straying, don’t. He says to you… “Come now, and let us reason together, though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18) Take time to read the book of John and see how he loves you!
Hear him calling you? He loves you. Go to him and let the rejoicing begin!
On this Hump-Day Wednesday… remember that Friday is always acomin’ but most importantly… Christ is coming back too!
