You get the wood and I’ll pick the movie! It’s that time of year! This Wednesday Work Blog let’s talk about the things we like to do this time of year!
We’ve come out of the busy season with long hot days, swimming and vacations. We’ve turned the corner to cooler, shorter days with hot cereal for breakfast and a steaming beverage. Chili sounds good for dinner and snuggling under a blanket by a fire. Hence the opening, you get the wood and I’ll pick the movie!
This blog will be short as I am sitting by the fire as I write it. This week I want to remind you to take time to enjoy the new season with loved ones and friends. Some may need down time with a book in front of a fire all by themselves—and that’s fine too. The details matter not… just take the time to enjoy.
The days are long. The kids are rambunctious, the animals need walked and everyone needs fed… supper won’t cook itself and laundry won’t wash itself. I know, I know. You are exhausted and weary. But I want to remind you that this season will fly by. You won’t believe how fast it goes. I promise this is true. So take time to enjoy school-work, bath-time, play-time and bedtime. the days are full but make them full of memories as sweet as can be.
Then before your head hits the pillow… thank the Lord for his love, strength, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control–all the fruit that he gives us, Galatians 5:22-23 for another day.
This Hump-Day I want to remind you… be intentional about relaxing and enjoying the cooler weather. And remember that Friday is always acomin’. Most importantly Christ is coming back too!
